Description
HMHS Letitia was a British hospital ship that ran aground at Portuguese Cove on 1 August 1917 carrying 546 wounded soldiers from Liverpool, UK. Incredibly, all the soldiers were rescued before the ship was lost. Most of the wreckage is located at depth of 30 to 40m. It is a beautiful dive site with many pelagic visitors. It was near this site that we had the first verified Canadian encounter with a great white shark in November 2021.
