Copper-Clad Schooner

Description

The copper-clad schooner was first found in 2002 in the Halifax Harbour. It lies deep in the Halifax Narrows and is full of life. I searched for this shipwreck for two years before I finally found it. The wreckage is falling into the seafloor and will one day disappear entirely. While it stands, it hosts an incredible amount of sea life. Sea cucumbers and anemones cover every bit of the superstructure while crabs and lobsters scurry around the interior of the wreck. This wreck was on my Nova Scotia wish list for many years and it was incredible to finally be able to map it.
